The Wilds Early Learning Academy

Alissa has been working in Early Education for 20 years as a teacher before becoming a Director at a Reggio Emilia inspired school. A graduate of the Early Childhood Education program at the University of the Fraser Valley in BC, Canada, Alissa spent the beginning of her career working in multi-age centers in outlying Vancouver communities. Her experiences led her to working with a wide spectrum of families and programs including non-profits, Head Start, and private preschools. After moving to Seattle, she began developing her own programs; success here led to her vision for The Wilds and created opportunity to move forward in the creation of her own school. 

Alissa completed the Wunderled certification, a year long study in creating intentional, engagement based programs for young children for passionate teachers. An ever avid student, Alissa is continually investing in her own education in Child Development (and beyond), and comes to The Wilds ready to be a leader in expanding conscious, high quality education in North Georgia.

She lives an otherwise quiet life in the North Georgia mountains happily with her husband, Kevin and two cats, Allie-Katniss and Kismet.
